TerugAdoptIdee company tour

It was a beautiful sunny day, good weather for cycling, and so they did. The schoolchildren of the Pax Christi school arrived by bike at 10:00 in the morning at Van Heek Textiles. It took them just under fifteen minutes to cycle from the school to Van Heek Textiles. At last they could see the water tower from up close, which they had been looking at all the time from their classrooms.

Children are the future, so why not involve them in the projects of the future?

With this in mind, 24 pupils from the Pax Christi school in Overdinkel were given a guided tour last Tuesday at Van Heek Textiles in Losser. We started with a short presentation about the material that is made here, they learned about the difference between fabrics and knits, followed by a short explanation about safety before they left for the factory. The children had a lot of fun learning how textiles are dyed and hands went up enthusiastically during the question round. After a tour of the factory, they were allowed to go to the showroom where they could see the finished products. There they admired books - such as a Harry Potter book series for which Van Heek Textiles supplied the bookcloth for the cover, and the book of Amalia that recently appeared in bookstores. Also our anti-pollen mesh, roller blinds and technical knits received plenty of attention. Before they returned to the classroom, the assignment that they will be working on was presented. Exciting! But first, they had to fill in the quiz about the visit and win some nice prizes...
