In memoriam: Henri G.H. Brookhuis

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Logistics and Production Director. On January 15, 2024, to our dismay, we lost Henri Brookhuis at the much-too-young age of 60.
Henri joined the Van Heek Textiles team on August 1, 2015, taking on the role of overseeing production. This responsibility was entrusted to him after many successful years at the sister company, Hartman. Henri not only brought his extensive expertise to Van Heek Textiles but also his warm personality, abundance of ideas, and passion.
Characteristic of Henri was his cheerful demeanor and involvement. His creativity stood out, as well as his keen awareness of market changes that we could respond to. More importantly, his ability to connect people and create a sense of unity throughout the company was eminent.
Henri's unparalleled ability to connect people, coupled with his entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm, resulted in the establishment of an extensive network. He regularly exchanged knowledge with other businesses in Losser, effortlessly maneuvering between various organizations and acquaintances, creating valuable connections. His knowledge and dedication had an immeasurable impact on shaping our organization.
As a true bon vivant at heart, Henri lived with unparalleled passion, thoroughly enjoying all the good things life had to offer. His family and friends meant everything to him and brought him much joy. Not long ago, he proudly became a grandfather for the first time. His uplifting presence has left a lasting impression on everyone privileged to work with him and personally knew him.
As the chairman of both Excelsior, the music association in Losser, and Centrum Management Losser, he clearly demonstrated his commitment. His efforts were rewarded with the appointment as a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau, and his footsteps were immortalized on the well-known Brueghelpad.
Henri Brookhuis will always be remembered as a dedicated professional and, above all, as a warm person. His legacy of connection and zest for life will continue to thrive within our organization for a long time. We will deeply miss our friend and colleague.
Our thoughts go out to his wife Brigit, his children, and the rest of his family. We share in their grief and offer our sincere support during this difficult time. To Henri's many friends and acquaintances, we also wish strength in coping with this loss.
