TerugREAFFIRMING OUR COMMITMENT TO CLIMATE ACTION

Van Heek Textiles strengthened its commitment to climate action by renewing its partnership with ClimatePartner for the Brillianta and Brillianta Calandré textile cover materials.

In 2022, we started the collaboration with ClimatePartner to analyse the carbon footprints of these two products, as well our factory, gaining insights for emission reduction strategies.

Since 2023, both Brillianta and Brillianta Calandré have achieved climate neutrality. We are committed to further progress by continuously taking new steps to enhance our sustainability efforts and lower CO2 emissions. Recent initiatives include transition to 100% recycled paper and introducing a procurement policy that integrates climate considerations. This policy includes using 30% recycled LDPE foil for packaging, which accounts for 31% of our total packaging materials.

While we have implemented measures to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, some emissions remain unavoidable, as we cannot address all sources at once. We are transparent about these measures and compensate for the remaining emissions through carefully selected, certified climate projects. This year, we have once again selected a forest protection project, reflecting our reliance on viscose and paper, making forest preservation crucial for us.
