CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Van Heek Textiles wishes to pursue its business activities in a sustainable and responsible manner. Working conditions, environmental awareness as well as continuity, profit/margin/result and employment form an integral part of our corporate policy.
Van Heek Textiles is committed to the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative and its principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.
Based on the 3Ps (People, Planet and Profit), this involves the following:
“PEOPLE”
We are, and will remain, responsible for the safety, health and welfare of our valued employees.
We pursue an active personnel and environmental policy: on the one hand based on the common interest of good cooperation, and, on the other, on the requirements of the Working Conditions Act (Arbowet), Environmental Management Act and the Pollution of Surfaces Waters Act (WVOW).
We train professionals
Van Heek Textiles has an official recognition as a work placement company and trains specialists for technical and textile-oriented studies. As an accredited work placement company, we are involved in shaping the future of the textile industry and are committed to passing on knowledge and experience to new generations. This way, we provide young people with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills for a future in the textile industry.
Oxfam Novib
Also outside our premises we find it important to be socially involved as a company and to work towards a better world. That is why we choose to support the work of Oxfam Novib as company ambassador. Oxfam Novib's Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs Network supports people in developing countries in their entrepreneurial dreams. Through this initiative, we support small and start-up entrepreneurs and the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises because we believe in the power of entrepreneurship. In this way we help them to work on a better future. For themselves, their families, and their communities.

“PROFIT”
Our textile tradition stretches back over 160 years. Our innovative ideas have given us a leading position in our industry. Because we wish to continue developing innovative products at the highest level, we motivate our employees to participate in training courses. To the best of our ability, we take the most responsible technical and economic measures and make provisions to ensure the maximum possible healthy result. We also strive towards a balance between our business activities, a better environment and the welfare of our employees.
Van Heek Textiles endorses the industry guidelines of the environmental treaty. The implementation of this policy challenges us to improve the objectives of this treaty. In reference to this policy and its objectives, we have regular contact with the local government. If desired, we also discuss this with our clients, neighbours, adjacent companies and suppliers.
